Eyes-Closed Swings

Why this drill

Sight is the noisiest sense in the swing, and it drowns out the one that matters: feel. A handful of no-ball swings with eyes closed reveals where the club actually is — most players are shocked — and sharpens the internal map that pressure can't erase.

Setup

A mid iron and safe swinging room. No balls until the final third. Feet set before the eyes close.

The drill

Eight full swings, eyes closed: after each, before opening them, name one thing you felt — where the weight was at the top, when the wrists released, which foot the finish landed on. Open, reset, repeat. The narration is the drill; vague swings produce vague golf. Then five balls off a tee with eyes open but attention kept on the same felt checkpoints rather than the ball. Contact usually improves precisely because you stopped supervising it.
