Fourteen Fairways
Why this drill
A round asks for roughly fourteen tee shots; this drill asks for them consecutively, on a tracked range's virtual fairway, and hands you the one driving statistic that predicts scores: fairways hit out of fourteen, measured, not remembered.
Setup
A tracked bay with a fairway-hit or accuracy mode (or side-by-side markers defining 35 yards on the screen), driver plus whatever else you'd tee off with, fourteen balls.
The drill
Play a phantom round's tee shots: fourteen balls, full routine, and — the wrinkle — club choice per "hole" as if reading a card: ten drivers, three fairway woods or hybrids, one iron, in whatever order you call before starting. The screen scores fairways hit. Nine of fourteen beats the tour average for accuracy; seven is solid club golf. Log the number monthly; it's the honest driving handicap, and it moves with practice in a way raw distance never will.
