Start Line, By the Numbers
Why this drill
The launch monitor measures the one thing your eyes can't at a range: exact start direction. Twenty balls with a called start window and the machine as referee calibrate the clubface faster than a season of squinting.
Setup
Launch monitor showing launch direction (degrees left/right), 7-iron, twenty balls. Define your window: within two degrees of target line.
The drill
Twenty stock swings, calling "in the window" or "missed left/ right" before the screen confirms. Two scores: balls actually in the window, and calls that matched the machine. The second number is the drill — face awareness means feeling the miss before you're told. Fourteen in-window with sixteen correct calls is excellent. Finish with five draws started deliberately right of window (right-hander): moving the start line on purpose is the graduation exam.

The ball starts where the face points — feel the face, then let the machine agree.
