Virtual Worst Ball
Why this drill
Worst ball — golf's most demanding practice format — without needing an empty course: the simulator replays any hole on command. Two balls a shot, always playing the worse, converts a sim session from range time into examination time.
Setup
Simulator with a mulligan or replay function, one course you know, nine holes of time.
The drill
Hit every shot twice using the sim's replay, and play on from the worse result — worse drive, worse approach, worse chip. Putts likewise if your sim putts; otherwise apply the two-putt rule honestly from wherever the worse approach finished. Score the nine. A single-digit player breaking 45 is playing genuinely tournament-ready golf; everyone discovers which club's second swing betrays them, and that club is next session's block work. The sim makes the format practical year-round — no dawn patrol required.
