Wedge Roulette
Why this drill
The course never asks for your stock 60-yard wedge twice. Random yardages, called one at a time and answered with the clock system, turn calibrated wedges into usable ones — the difference between knowing your numbers and hitting them on demand.
Setup
Two or three wedges and fifteen balls. Range flags or markers at known distances between 40 and 100 yards. Your carry chart from the calibration session, face down.
The drill
Before each ball, generate a yardage — last two digits of a phone number, a die roll times ten plus forty, anything unplanned. Choose the wedge and clock position, commit, swing. Two points if the ball finishes pin-high within a flag of the target, one point for ten yards either side. Never the same yardage twice running. Twenty points from thirty possible means the chart has become a skill. Check the chart only after the session — it grades you, not the other way around.
